The Really: The healthcare address to Congress and the American people is important. Really.

Reconcilliation? Bi-partisanship? Public Option? Co-op? Single payer?

I pay for it? Tax deduction? I have to get healthcare or I will be fined? Universal healthcare but maybe I am not covered?

Wha? Whoa!

Here was the deal. I vote for you and your team and we get healthcare. The healthcare that companies have ceased to provide. The healthcare it is almost impossible for the average person to afford without adding kitty food to the menu somewhere during the week.

Mr. President. I really want health insurance. It is why I voted for you.

The Really: Why did the Main Stream Media give so much coverage to the nutty nuts who thought President Hitler was going to ask for a loyalty oath from the poor little children of America?

The simple benign speech to encourage children to stay in school was a big disappointment to the crazies. Not the idiots who try to make points about how much they hate President Obama, but the major media outlets who hyped the controversy which wasn’t a controversy at all.

Nice work JOURNALISTS. What you really did was low-rent blogging.

The Really: Foxy News is reporting Joe Kennedy II, former United States Representative and CEO of Citizens Energy will need seek his uncle Teddy’s seat in the Senate. Of course later this week some bozo on Fox will say it is because he is in bed with Hugo Chavez about the light bulbs and the cheap fuel and because they really have a picture of him in bed with Hugo Chavez.

But you could have won Joe. Why? The hair!. The long gone-all-white-I-am-not-dyeing-my-hair-I-am-Kennedy-and-I-don’t-give-a-fuck hair. It would have done it.

The Really: In this case did we really need to go with all the “alleged”, “suspected”, “person of interest” stuff?

Vancouver police on Sunday confirmed that Ryan Alexander Jenkins has been found dead in a hotel room in Hope, British Columbia. They have identified his body and are investigating the circumstances of his death. Authorities believe he hanged himself.

Dicks Sporting Goods stores will not be carrying the new Philadelphia Eagles quarter back jersey for Michael Vick …. UNTIL they evaluate the Eagles fans reaction. Basically, they wont carry the jersey until they know they can make money off of it. So much for taking a stance.

The Really: You weren’t born yet? Sure you were and the television show which changed the direction of television watching and helped blur the lines between generations is back. Really.

From Newsday:

‘Lost” owes a debt to “thirtysomething.” So does “Mad Men.” “Six Feet Under.” “Gilmore Girls.” Even “Sex and the City.”

That’s quite an impact for a four-season drama of people in their 30s sitting around talking, sharing their struggles to be good parents, spouses, friends, moneymakers, idealists. Name an aspect of daily life, and the show’s two core married couples and three single friends got introspective over it. Forsaking detached TV tradition, they bared their souls to viewers, who often embraced this intimate portrayal of their own angst (or rolled their eyes at its “me decade” self-absorption).

From the LA Times:

“Thirtysomething” may have come into being just as TV was focusing its attention on the youth market, but it also helped that market widen to include just about everyone, 60 being the new puberty or whatever we’re down to now.

Nowhere is that more apparent than on the blogosphere, which may owe more to “thirtysomething” than even “Seinfeld” does. With its reliance on endless self-revelation and catchy phraseology, the blogosphere dispenses with the shackles of narrative structure, and you don’t even have to worry about getting Botox. Like “thirtysomething,” we all love and hate it in equal measure, for pretty much the same reasons.

Watching “Julie & Julia,” it wasn’t hard to see the blogging Julie (Amy Adams) as a direct descendant of Melissa Steadmen.

If “thirtysomething” were made today, Michael and Elliot would have their own website, Melissa would work for Gawker and Hope would be a Mommy blogger. And they’d all be in their 40s or 50s. Not that it would matter.”
